Ultrasound
What To Expect With An Ultrasound?
An ultrasound is a painless procedure that utilizes high-frequency sound waves to show your pet’s body and organs. Producing timely results, as the images of your pet show on a monitor, an ultrasound is an efficient way to diagnose abdominal issues, pregnancy and musculoskeletal abnormalities.
Most likely, your pet will not need to be sedated, but areas of hair may need to be shaved or clipped and coupling jelly applied between the energy-sensing, smooth instrument (the transducer) and your pet’s skin.
This procedure can determine whether your pet needs surgery. Sometimes, life-saving surgery is the result of what has been noted on an ultrasound, such as a ruptured bladder or spleen.
